右下咽頭梨状窩瘻による急性化膿性甲状腺炎

Acute Suppurative Thyroiditis due to Right Piriform Sinus Fistula

I．はじめに

　急性化膿性甲状腺炎は近年，多くの場合に下咽頭梨状窩瘻が基礎疾患として存在することが広く知られるようになってきた。われわれは今回右下咽頭梨状窩瘻が原因となった急性甲状腺炎の1症例を経験したのでここに報告する。

Acute suppurative thyroiditis is a rare disease and its route of infection remains controversial. The piriform sinus fistula is regarded as a main cause of acute thyroiditis, since Miyauchi reported seven cases.

A 12-year-old female, who had suffered from acute thyroiditis three times, demonstrated a fistular tract from the right piriform sinus on hypopharyngogram. Dyeing the fistular tract was found to be useful for surgical treatment.
