口腔内腫瘍におけるフィンガープローブを用いた超音波断層法の有用性についての検討

Effectiveness of Ultrasonography Using a Finger-Probe in Oral Tumors

I．はじめに

　超音波断層法（ultrasonography，以下USと略）は，その簡便さから身体各部で広く診断に利用されている。耳鼻咽喉科領域においても，頭頸部癌の頸部リンパ節転移の検索，甲状腺疾患，囊胞性疾患などの診断に有用な検査法であることは既に広く知られているが，解剖学的な制約や探触子の性能，形状による制限のため，USの利点を十分に生かすような検査が行われているとはいいがたい^1,2）。

　今回われわれはフィンガープローブを用いたUSを口腔癌症例の術前検査として施行し，病巣把握における有用性を術所見およびMRI所見と照らし合わせて検討した。その結果，これらの所見と符合する所見が得られることが明らかになったばかりではなく，場合によっては，他の検査法では得られない所見を得ることができた。これらの結果より，USが口腔内疾患にも有用と考えられたので報告する。

　We used a finger-probe to evaluate the extent of the tumor before surgery by ultrasonography in 4 patients with oral cancer. The findings of the ultrasonography of the tumor was very well matched with the findings of MRI image and that of the specimen obtained by surgery. Especially,ultrasonography using a finger-probe was very effective in tongue tumors. Ultrasonography is easy to use at patients' bedside and is not harmful to patients. This result indicates that ultrasonography using a finger-probe should be more applicable in the oral cavity.
