側頭骨線維性骨異形成症例

A Case Report of Monostotic Fibrous Dysplasia of the Temporal Bone

I．はじめに

　線維性骨異形成症（fibrous dysplasia：FDと略）は原因不明の疾患で，一般に下肢の長管骨に単発性に発生する。耳鼻咽喉科領域では上顎骨，下顎骨に発生することが多く^1），側頭骨に限局する例は稀とされている^2）。

　今回われわれは，左側頭骨に発生したFDの1例を経験したので報告する。

　A 59-year-old woman suffered from vertigo in June 2001. The left temporal bone was swollen but the external auditory canal was not narrow. Sensory neural hearing loss was recognized in the left ear.

　By temporal bone biopsy fibrous dysplasia（FD）was diagnosed but further examinations proved it the monostotic type of FD. Medication was administered and the vertigo and left sensory neural hearing loss improved. The temporal bone remained stabled up to the present time and no operation was performed.
