硝子体出血で受診した未治療の糖尿病網膜症症例

Review of cases of untreated diabetic retinopathy with vitreous hemorrhage as the initial feature

（展示222）　眼科医による経過観察や治療を受けておらず，硝子体出血による視力低下で受診した，糖尿病網膜症症例15例につき検討した。年齢は42歳から74歳で，男性9例，女性6例であった。全例で他眼に前増殖もしくは増殖網膜症がみられた。硝子体出血による片眼の視力低下で初診した症例の予後は比較的良好であったが，他眼が視力不良の状態のまま放置され，良好なほうの眼に硝子体出血が起こって受診した症例は，鎮静化しても視力転帰は不良であった。約半数は内科的治療を受けていたにもかかわらず眼科を受診していなかった。この点に関してもさらなる啓蒙が必要であると考えられた。

We reviewed 15 cases of diabetic retinopathy who had not been under the care of an ophthalmologist and who visited us for vitreous hemorrhage. The ages ranged from 42 to 74 years. There were 7 males and 6 females. Preproliferative or proliferative retinopathy was present in the fellow eye in all the cases. The outcome was fair in cases with good visual acuity in the fellow eye. Poor outcome was the rule when both eyes showed impaired visual acuity. Half of the cases had been under the care of an internist but had not visited an ophthalmologist. The findings show the necessity of public enlightenment.
