  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

We evaluated two different modes of pattern stimulation for visual evoked magnetoencephalo-graphy. One used a cathode-ray tube display, CRT. The other used a translucent screen projected from behind by a liquid crystal projector. Visual evoked fields by checkerboard pattern reversal stimulation were recorded in a magnetically shielded room. The CRT display produced huge magnetic noise when brought into the shielded room. The translucent screen could be placed anywhere as long as the projector was put outside the shielded room. While the CRT display produced brighter stimulation with even brightness, the translucent screen was suitable for recording the visual evoked magnetoencephalogram in terms of the magnetic noise.
