We performed Q-switched YAG laser treatment in 115 eyes for postoperative complications of pos-terior chamber lens implantation including: fi-brinous membrane in pupillary area 30 eyes, resid-ual opacification of the posterior capsule 19 and aftercataract 66 eyes. Fibrinous membrane forma-tion developed in 3.13% of 958 eyes. It was more common in eyes with diabetes, pigmentary retinaldegeneration, narrow angle glaucoma and prior ocular trauma. YAG laser treatment for residual opacification of the posterior capsule was perfor-med 1 week to 6 months after surgery. In eyes with aftercataract, YAG laser was applied after an average of 28 months after surgery. The differance in the visual acuity before and after YAG laser treatment averaged 0.5 in eyes with aftercataract.
