網膜色素変性症の前房フレアとセル値，視野変化，白内障との相関

Correlation among aqueous flare, cells, visual field and cataract in pigmentary retinal degeneration

　網膜色素変性症，24例48眼を対象として，レーザーフレアセルメーターを用いて前房フレア強度およびセル値を測定し，視野と白内障との関連を比較検討した。その結果，本症における視野の進行程度と前房フレア強度との間に相関があり，また前極白内障を合併する症例では，白内障を合併しない症例に比べ前房フレア強度が有意に上昇していた。本疾患の病期判定には，レーザーフレアセル測定は侵襲が少なく有用な方法と思われた。

We evaluated 24 patients, 48 eyes, with pig-mentary retinal degeneration regarding the state of blood-aqueous barrier and other clinical manifesta-tions. We used a flare-cell meter to quantitate the flare and cells in the aqueous. There was a strong correlation between the aqueous flare value andvisual field loss, particularly in those with central contraction of the visual field. Patients with cata-ract showed high flare values, particularly those with anterior polar cataract. The findings about cells in the aqueous were less implicit than flare values in the above regard. The findings seemed to suggest the clinical usefulness of quantitated aque-ous flare in assessing the prognosis of pigmentary retinal degeneration.
