  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

We designed yellow-tinted lens to correct the color vision in phakic and pseudophakic eyes. We tested the feasibility of the tinted lens in subjects operated for one eye only with visual acuity of 0.7 or over in the fellow eye. Intraocular lens implanta-tion had been performed in 14 persons and simplecataract extraction in 11 persons. These persons were subjected to various color vision tests.

Pseudophakic eyes with yellow-tinted lens, which matched the color of the crystalline lens of normal persons at 50 years of age, showed im-proved color vision than eyes without. Too densely tinted lens resulted in abnormality in the color vision.
