Abstract Purpose:To report two cases who received cataract surgery with repair of the iris for long-standing traumatic iridodialysis

Cases:Both were males aged 70 and 75 years respectively. They had traumatic iridodialysis ranging over 30 and 20 degrees each at 12 o'clock position each. Cataract surgery was performed using an iris retractor to prevent iridodonesis. Diluted acetylcholine solution was then injected into the anterior chamber to induce miosis. Tip of the iris at the site of iridodialysis was pulled out through the corneoscleral incision and was sutured with a 10-0 nylon thread. The incarcerated iris was released into the anterior chamber using viscous material.

Conclusion:Cataract surgery was safely performed using the above procedures in the present 2 cases of long-standimg traumatic iridodialysis.
