Abstract. Purpose:To report a case of radiation optic neuropathy manifesting pseudo-Foster-Kennedy syndrome. Case:A 65-year-old woman presented with impaired vision in the right eye of recent onset. She had been diagnosed with breast carcinoma 11 years before followed by excision. Cerebral and skull metastases were detected 4 months before and were treated by radiation of the whole brain totalling 50 Gy. Findings:Corrected visual acuity was 0.08 right and 0.8 left. The right eye showed attenuation of retinal nerve fiber layer around the disc. The left eye showed swelling of optic disc. The findings simulated Foster-Kennedy syndrome. Conclusion:Pseudo-Foster-Kennedy syndrome in the present case seemed to be manifestation of optic neuropathy secondary to whole brain radiation.
