I．緒言

　1880年Heyl^1）によつて網膜脂血症が報告されて以来，今日迄網膜脂血症の症例は80数例を数えるにすぎない。本邦においては河本氏^2），桐沢氏^3）の報告をみるだけである。

　網膜脂血症が特に近年，稀となつたのは，インスリンの発見以来糖尿病の治療が非常に進歩したこと，早期診断に力が注がれ糖尿病が重篤な状態になるまで放置されることが少なくなつたことによるものである。

Typical lipaemia of the retina was observed in a 18-year-old male during precomatous statedue to diabetes. Content of neutral fat in the serum stood as high as 8,400mg/dl when the lipaemia of the retina was detected. The reti-nal lipaemia disappeared after 6 days of inte-nsive treatment with insulin, after which the neutral fat content in the serum decreased to 2,160mg/dl. Studies with ERG revealed abno-rmal a and b waves and abnormal oscillatory potential As normal findings were obtained through fluorescein fundus studies, the white appearance of retinal vessels is regarded as due to milky opacity of the blood column.
