  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Two major problems remain in the silicone intubation in canalicular or nasolacrimal duct obstruction. One is the difficulty of pulling out the lower tip at the opening of nasolacrimal duct in the nostril. The other is concerned with the indication of this method.

We developed a new technique of intubating thelacrimal passage. We placed a glass fiber in the cavity of silicone tube to facilitate its location in the nostril. We employed the endoilluminator of Ocutome system because of its adequate size, rigid-ity and sufficient brightness. The current system allowed passage of silicone intubation with consid-erable ease.
