シリコンリング留置術による涙点閉鎖の治療

Surgical repair of occluded lacrimal puncta with silicone tube

　涙小管断裂を適応としてシリコンチューブを上下涙小管にリング状に留置する発想がある．チューブを鼻腔へ誘導する手間が省け，術後にチューブの脱出が起こりえないので，シリコンループ留置術に勝る．このシリコンリング留置術に涙点の耳側切開を加える変法を頑固な後天性上下涙点閉鎖の3例に施して好結果を得た．本症を本法の適応に追加する．

The torn lacrimal canaliculus can be repaired by placing a silicone tube through the upper and lower canaliculi only, as described by Murube. This method eliminates the need to introduce the two ends of the tube into the nasal cavity. The tube is left in place and will not become displaced.

I developed a modified procedure by placing a lateral incision along the vertical portion of the upper and lower canaliculi. This Modified technique resulted in favorable outcome in 3 cases of acquired punctal stenosis in which a previous one-snip punctoplasty had failed.
