  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

We evaluated 15 cases with Kawasaki disease during the foregoing 5-year period. We detected unique retinochoroidal lesions in 3: 1 male and 2 females aged 6, 8 and 11 years respectively. Unilat-eral involvement was the rule. Funduscopy showed multiple coalescent grayish-yellow patches dis-tributed in linear patterns in the posterior and equatorial retina. Fluorescein angiography showed window defects at the sites of the patches. The finding suggested that the lesion was located at the retinal pigment epithelium. The lesions simulated drusen. They seemed to have developed secondary to choroidal inflammation.
