The morphology of ora serrata. Ⅲ. Abnormally deep ora bays and enclosed ora bays

　著者らは先の検索において，208眼を圧入子付きコンタクトレンズを用いて細隙灯顕微鏡で観察し，異常に深い鋸状縁湾を6.4％の眼に，包囲された鋸状縁湾を3.4％の眼に認めた。今回はさらに症例を加え，異常に深い鋸状縁湾21個，包囲された鋸状縁湾11個について形態学的特徴を検討した。1）両者とも水平子午線付近や鼻上側に多く分布し，2）鋸状縁よりかなり後方に陥入した湾を持ち，3）子午線隆起を伴うものが多く，4）両側の鋸状縁歯間の毛様体扁平部は顆粒状の表面を持ち，色素増殖を伴うことが多く，5）僚眼に両構造のいずれかを持つ例が多かった。

We evaluated the morphological characteristics of 21 abnormally deep ora bays in 11 eyes and 11 enclosed ora bays in 9 eyes with the use of contact lens with indentator and slitlamp microscope.

The incidence of abnormally deep ora bay and enclosed ora bay was 6.4% and 3.4% each. Both were frequently located near the horizontal merid-ian and in the superior nasal quadrant. As common characteristics, the bays were abnormally indented posteriorly and were often accompanied by meridi-onal folds. The pars plana area enclosed by the ora teeth was hyperpigmented, resulting in granular surface pattern.
