Bloch-Sulzberger症候群の網膜凝固療法

Retinopexy for the treatment of Bloch-Sulzberger syndrome

　生後早期に発見された3例のBloch-Sulzberger症候群を，xenon光凝固術または冷凍凝固術により治療し良好な結果を得た．治療経過からみて，本症候群は毛細血管床の脱落が生後一定期間のみ後極に向かって進行するself-limitingな疾患で，網膜凝固療法は網膜の増殖性変化を防ぐ効果はあるが，病変の後極部への進行そのものは停止させることはできないと考えられた．

We treated three cases of Bloch-Sulzberger syndrome during active phases of retinopathy characterized by expanding avascular zone in the periphery. Peripheral retinal lesions with capillary dropout were treated either with xenon photocoagulation or cryoretinopexy.In all the treated eyes, the peripheral capillary dropout further advanced posteriorly for a certain period before undergoing spontaneous cessation, regardless of timingor extent of retinopexy. It appeared that our mode of treatment did not alter the natural history of disease except preventing proliferative lesions due to retinal ischemia.
