　透析療法中の糖尿病患者45例90眼について，主に網膜症についての検討を加えた．腎不全に陥った糖尿病患者の網膜症は進行したものが多く，特に透析導入1年未満に活動性の網膜症を有する症例が多く見られた．一方，透析期間2年以上の症例では，網膜症は安定していた．以上より，透析開始2年未満の時期には，螢光眼底血管造影，また光凝固術など，眼科的に適切なる処置を速やかに行う必要があると考えられた．また，透析導入時期に関しては，今後眼科的な視点からも検討の必要があると思われた．

We evaluated the state of retinopathy in 90 eyes of 45 diabetic patients under maintenance hemodialysis treat-ment for renal complications. Specific therapy was in-dicated for fundus lesions in 85 % of the patients who were under hemodialysis for less than one year. No ophthalmic therapy was indicated, on the other hand, for patients who were under hemodialysis for 2 years or more. The findings indicate that a close observation is necessary for fundus lesions in diabetic patients during the first year after the start of hemodialysis therapy.
