ボール眼外傷の15年間の統計的検討

A fifteen-year review of ocular injury due to flying ball

　1975年から1989年に大阪市立大学眼科を受診した鈍的眼外傷症例1,907眼のうち，スポーツ眼外傷515眼を対象に統計的検討を行った。

　スポーツ眼外傷のうち，442眼（86％）がボール眼外傷で、その原因は野球ボール，サッカーボール，ソフトボール，テニスボールの順に多く，これらで全体の90％を占めた。軟式野球ボールとサッカーボールによる打撲例に重篤な網膜・硝子体病変の合併が多かった。網脈絡膜病変は野球ボールでは眼底の下方に，サッカーボールでは上方に生じる傾向を認めた。水晶体脱臼と眼窩底骨折はボール眼外傷には稀であった。ボールの運動量，力の作用方向などが特定の眼病変発現に関与すると考えられ，生体力学的検討も必要と思われる。

We reviewed a consecutive series of 515 eye injuries during sports activity during the 15-year -period through 1989. A total of 1907 eye injuries were seen during the same period. Flying ball wasthe cause of eye injury in 442 cases, 86%. Baseball, soccer, softball and tennis accounted for 90% of these ball injuries. Severe fundus lesions were more common after ball injury by baseball and soccer. Superior fundus lesion was frequent after injury by soccer ball and inferior lesion was frequent after injury by baseball. Incidence of lens luxation and orbital fracture was low in eye injuries by flying ball in general.
