  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

We treated 7 eyes (7 cases) with secondary glau-coma using argon or krypton laser trabeculoplasty. All the eyes manifested heavy pigmentation in the trabecular meshwork. We used smallest spot size and relatively low power output which was just enough to develop a tiny bubble when applied to the posterior trabecular meshwork.

All the eyes responded well to the treatment. Particularly, dramatic hypotensive effects resulted in eyes in which the glaucoma had persisted for shorter periods. There was no definite differences in the effects between argon and krypton. The favor-able hypotensive effects seemed to be due to trabe-cular tightening and wash out of pigmentation.
