  • Look Inside

A new method of slitlamp photography of the vitreous is described using a photoslitlamp equipped with automated exposure system (Kowa SC-6). A high-sensitivity color reversal film (Fujichrome 1600 RSP) was used for recording. A three-mirror Goldmann contact lens was also used.

With the use of the above instrumentation, it was possible to photograph the optical section of the vitreous from the posterior pole to the equatorial region. Fine vitreous opacities, as tobacco dusting, and partial or complete posterior vitreous detach-ments could be documented in sufficient detail.

The present methods are simple and easy and are recommended for routine photography of the vitreous in clinical practice.
