We tested the feasibility of newly developed 10 MHz linear array ultrasound diagnostic equipment, which was developed by Matsusita Research In-stitute Tokyo, Inc., as a diagnostic tool in clinical ophthalmology. The equipment was judged as superior in resolution, gray scale image and flexi-bility in applications to the mechanical sector-scanning ultrasound equipments currently in use. Noise and vibrations could be minimized with the use of tranducers. It can be used in A, B and M modes. The whole view of the eyeglobe can be ob-tained with the use of water-bath applicator.
