　角膜ヘルペス患者から分離したherpes simplex virus （HSV）17株について，酵素抗体直接法を利用したIDU感受性試験を行い，つぎのような結果が得られた。

（1） HSV 17株の全例で，5μg／ml以下のIDU感受性が認められた。

（2）螢光抗体法に比べて，操作時間が長くなるという欠点はあるが，通常の光学顕微鏡による観察が可能である。また，永久保存もできるという長所がある。

（3）技術操作は簡単で，臨床的応用は十分に可能と考えられる。

We applied the direct immunoperoxidase method to estimate the susceptibility to IDU of 17 herpes simplex virus strains which were isolated from ac-tive epithelial lesions of herpetic keratitis in pa-tients. All the strains were found to be sensitive below the IDU concentration of 5 μg/ml. The findings obtained by this method were in fair agree-ment with those by the fluorescent antibody tech-nique. The present method is specific and simple. It offers clear-cut interpretation and a permanent record of the results.
