70歳,男性の顔面神経麻痺による下眼瞼下垂および下眼瞼の麻痺性外反に対し,保存強膜を用いて手術を行い良好な結果を得た症例を報告し,その手術方法を紹介した。
We successfully performed a plastic surgery to correct the ptosis and paralytic ectropion of the lower eyelid due to facial palsy in a 70-year-old male. The facial palsy resulted from surgical removal of a tumor in the middle ear 18 months before. To correct the ptosis and ectropion, a piece of preserved human sclera, 5 mm in height and 30 mm in width, was placed and fixed between the lateral orbital margin and the lower tarsus. The surgery resulted in disappearance of corneal erosion and epiphora and enabled satisfactory voluntary closure of the eyelids during the follow-up period of 30 months postoperatively.
