Clinical features of chronic cyclitis

　北大眼科ぶどう膜炎外来を受診したchronic cyclitis患者19例について，その臨床像を中心に報告する。症例の内訳は男8例，女11例であり，両眼性が9例，片眼性が10例であった。虹彩後癒着を伴わない軽い虹彩炎と，著明な硝子体混濁（前部微塵状混濁，snowballs, snow banking）がほとんどの例にみられ，類嚢胞黄斑部浮腫，白内障，緑内障の合併も多くみられたが，23眼（82.1％）は0.5以上の良好な視力を保持していた。虹彩炎に対しては無治療，類嚢胞黄斑部浮腫や硝子体混濁の強いものには，後部または前部テノン嚢下ステロイド注射が適当であり，長期にわたる定期的なfollow upが必要である。

We observed 19 patients with typical ocular fea-tures of chronic cyclitis in our Uveitis Clinic in the past 31 months. Eight were males and 11 were females. The condition occurred unilaterally in 9 and bilaterally in 10 cases. Almost all the eyes manifested mild iritis without posterior synechia formation and marked fine dust-like opacities in the anterior vitreous. There were cystoid macular edema, posterior subcaspular cataract and exuda-tion in the inferior portion of the vitreous in the snowballs or snow-banking pattern in the majority of the patients. Secondary glaucoma developed in 3 eyes.
