It is accepted by almost all serious workers in visual field examination techniques, that static perimetry is a much more sensitive, accurate, and reproducible method for the examination of the central visual fields. The world is beginning to turn more and more away from purely kinetic perime-try, and to use either static perimetry alone, or static for the central field and kinetic for the peri-pheral fields.
This paper will concern itself with a completely new instrument, the visual field analyser Mark Ⅱ, although anyone who is acquainted with the visual field analyser Mark I will not feel entirely strange to it.
