Intraocular pressure (IOP) fluctuates with a circadian rhythm (diurnal variation), and the level of IOP is variable from day to day (day-to-day variation). In normal subjects, the differ-ence in IOP between the two eyes is usually less than 3mmHg. It is the purpose of this paper to report on the day-to-day variations and the differences in IOP between the two eyes of 10 subjects with ocular hypertension and 14 with primary open-angle glaucoma. All the subjects were characterized by intermittent or constant IOP levels greater than 21mmHg with Goldmann applanation tonometer.
