原発開放隅角緑内障患者に対する1％bupranolol点眼治療効果

Effect of topical 1% bupranolol on primary open angle glaucoma

緒　言

　原発開放隅角緑内障の薬物療法として，通常，cholinergic agent（pilocarpine）と，catechola-mine（epinephrine）の点眼が行われ，この療法で不十分な場合はcarbonic anhydrase inhibitor（acetazolamide）の内服を併用するのが原則である。これらの薬剤が緑内障治療薬として登場して既に久しく，それぞれに，利点・欠点があり，これらの欠点を補い，またこれらによる眼圧下降の認められない例にも有効な治療薬の出現が望まれてきた。

　最近，戻水の産生，流出機構と，交感神経受容体に関する研究が進み，特にβ受容体の関与が注目されている。このような趨勢の中で，β受容体遮断剤の眼圧下降作用に関する多数の論文が報告されている。

We treated 31 eyes of 20 patients with open angle glaucoma and another eye with heinorrha-gic glaucoma. All the eyes had responded poorly to conventional treatments with topical pilocar-pine, epinephrine or oral acetazolamide. Each patient received 2 drops of 1% bupranolol hydro-chloride ophthalmic solution 4 times daily. During the period of treatment, 27 eyes of 18 patients were kept within satisfactory level.
