Sulfadimethoxine （Sulxin—中外）による麥粒腫の治療成績

The effect of sulfadimethoxine (SULXIN ; CHUGAI) in Hordeolum

　さいきん所謂long actingのsulfa剤が続々と登場し，各科において，slight—infektionに対する効果が期待されているが，1日1回の投与ですむという便利さが大いに買われている。

　麦粒腫はどこの眼科外来でも見られ，軽症感染であることが普通で，これにたいする新sulfa剤（以下新S剤）の効果について，sulfa—isoxazol，sulfa—phenylpyrazol等にかんするすぐれた成績の報告も見られる。

The author's clinic had 263 cases of styes in 1960 (external hordeolums : 205 cases, internal : 58 cases).

Treatments were performed on 247 cases (external : 193, internal : 54), in which 61 cas-es (external : 50, internal : 11) were treated by only antibiotic ophthalmic ointment, 143 cases (external : 105, internal : 38) by local application with oral administration of SULXIN, and 43 cases (external : 38, internal : 5) by local application with injection used together.

The results were as follows ;

1. In the external styes, most cases of SULXIN administration had been improved without the operation and natural discharge of pus.
