本邦社会人の高血圧，血管硬化とその眼底所見の疫学的研究

Epidemiological studies of disease with hypertension and arteriolarsclerosis by eyeground in inhabitants of Japan

　近年，脳卒中死が国氏死因の主位をしめ，その死亡が社会の第一線で活躍している壮年者に頻発する事から循環器系成人病を早期に発見し管理する事が各方面より強く要望されるにいたつた。著者らは数年来，高血圧，血管硬化の健康管理の研究に従事してきたが^1）〜15），今回はいままでの成績から眼底所見の研究を主として高血圧，血管硬化の社会集団における発生，分布，予後等について考察を加える次第である。

Ophthalmoscopic examinations were performed on 2.533 healthy, working persons of various companies and communities. The results are summarized as follows:

1) Scheie's classification seems to be more useful than Keith-Wageners.

2) Very often the authors found the retinal changes of hypertension (>Gr.2) and arteriolarsclerosis (>Gr.2) on the hypertensive group of brachial blood pressure. But severe retinal changes (K-W IV) were not seen. Sometimes the authors found the same changes of the retina on the normal and hypotensive, especially in persons above 60 years old.
