The use of Urea as an osmotic ocular hypotensive agent for glaucoma was described. Urea was dripped intravenously in a dosage of 1 g. per Kilogram as 30% hypertonic solution in 5% glucose solution.

The results of 2 cases with galucoma pnodromal, 2 cases with glaucoma acut., 4 cases with glaucoma secund. were presented.

1) Intraocular pressure was reduced by the injection either in normal or in glaucomatous eyes, maximum ocular hypotony was induced in 0.5-2.5 average 1.5 hours and the dura-tion of ocular hypotony was in 5-6 average 5.7 hours.
