眼球眼窠内異物除去の小成績

Result of operation for the intraocular and orbital foreign bodies

　眼球及び眼窠内異物は産業災害によるものが多く，治療成績の如何は補償等級の決定に直接関係がある。然しながらその予後は常に必ずしも予期するが如き結果を得られるわけではない。思わない合併症が起つたり，異物摘出時の眼組織の損傷の為に眼球癆に陥つたり，内容除去を余儀なくする場合にも遭遇する。

　私共は昭和26年以降53例の患者を取扱つたのでその成績を一括して述べ，多少私見を加えて今後の為に一般の御教示を得たいと思う。

Fifty-three cases of foreign bodies in the eye-ball or in the orbita were operated in the last 8 years in our clinic and the following observations were made.

1) Foreign bodies in 43 eyes (81%) of 53 eyes were found to be iron pieces. Ninety-one percent (39 eyes) of the iron-piece cases were caused during labor, while only 3 cases (3 eyes) out of 10 non-magnetic foreign body cases were related with labor.

2) The properties and locations of the foreign bodies were shown schematically.
