Guaiazuleneの眼科領域に於ける応用—動物実験篇

Ophthalmic use of guaiazulene I Report : Experimental stadies in rabbit

緒言

　欧州を原産とし，各地で栽培されるカミツレ（Matricaria chamomillal）は古来消炎作用を有する薬草として，煎剤及び薬湯として，広く奨用されて来た。最近これより分離された。Guaia-zuleneが抗アレルギー及び上皮再生，肉芽形成促進剤として，皮膚科領域に於いて大いに使用される様になつた。

　現在角膜疾患に関しては，消炎作用を目的として，Cortisone，Prednisolon等のSteroid-hormoneが広く応用され，治療面に非常な進歩をみたのであるが，角膜上皮剥脱や角膜潰瘍等の物質欠損を有する疾患の場合，単に抗生物質その他の薬剤により，創傷感染を防ぐに過ぎず，黄軟膏Dionin VitaminA及びB₂　Chlorophyll軟膏等の血管拡張及び新陳代謝促進機転を介して，治癒促進を計つているに過ぎない。

The authors reported the results of experiment of guaiazulene. The corneal erosion by mechanical injury, the corneal corosion by alkali and allergic keratitis were treated with guaiazulene ointment.

The results were as follows :

1) Guaiazulene ointment accelerated the epithelisation of the erosion and corosion of the cornea.

2) Guaiazulene ointment was of no effect for the healing of the alergic keratitis.
