流行性角結膜炎患者の血清学的検索

Serological studies on the cases of epidemic keratoconjunctivitis

　我々は流行性角結膜炎（以下EKCと略記）につき，ウイルス学的な実験成績と臨床症状との関連について検討を行つているが，今回は次の諸点について検索したものである。

　1．Clinical EKC^＊＊の総べてがAdenovirus感染症であるか。

Complement-fixation (CF) test was performed on the paired sere pf 53 cases of clinical EKC. A fourfold or greater rise in CF titers was found in 31 cases (59%), while in 15 cases (28%), CF test was positive in acute sera, and showed rise less than fourfold in convalescent sera. 7 cases (13%) showed no rise in titer both in acute and convalescent sera, and 4 of these cases developed a fourfold or greater rise in neutralizing antibody titers to adenovirus type 8 during the illness.

CF titer appears to reach maximum level about 14 days after onset of the illness and maintain this level for 3 to 5 months, then fall gradually.
