流行性角結膜炎の病名論

On diagnosis of epidemic keratoconjunctivitis.

　流行性角結膜炎（以下流角と略）の病名に就いて検討を加え度いと思う。その理由は此病名の解釈に二つの異つた解釈がなされているからである。従つて統計上或は疫学上にて多少の困乱が生ずるのは当然である。此問題に就いては先に萩野教授が日本医事新報（昭和28年）に流角の診断と題して種々の角度より検討されている。併しその後Virus学の進歩により流角のVirusも明確になりつゝあるので流角の病名に就いて再検討をする次第である。本邦の最近の報告を見ても流角の罹患が乳幼児にあるかないかの二通りの解釈が行われている。外国にては流角と診断したものに就いては乳幼児の罹患は殆んど問題外の感がある。そこで流角の病名の解釈に就いて文献を挙げ，それに批判を加え度いと思う。

There are two understandings of the diagnosis of epidenic keratoconjunctivitis. One ofthem originates in considering only keratitis, and another in considering keratitis with conjunctivitis. As nowadays the Virus of epidemic keratoconjunctivitis has been proved, the aiagnosis of it had better to be considered as its causal name and as including sympto-ms of conjunctivitis.
