春季カタル患者の結膜嚢内細菌とpHに就いて

Bacteria and pH in the Conjunctival Sac with Vernal Conjunctivitis.

緒言

　春季カタルの分泌物を鏡検する場合屡々気付くことは，塗抹標本中に細菌が少いことである。殊に急性者季カタルの場合，殆んど標本中に細菌を認めぬことは注目に値するであらう。

　従つて急性春季カタルの診断に際し，標本に細菌の少いことは，好酸球の有無と同様一つの診断の目標となる位である。即ち標本中に細菌を多数認めた場合，急性春季カタルの診断の反証と考えてよい時が屡々である。

Investigating pH of lachrymal fluid and bacteria in the conjunctival sac on 21 cases of vernal conjunctivitis, we got the following results.

1) pH of acute vernal conjunctivitis had amounted to 7.4 to 8.4 and that of chronic ve-rnal conjunctivitis to 7.6 to 8.4. pH of the normal was 6.6 to 7.4 at the same condition.

2) Very few bacteria in the conjunctival sac are found on acute vernal conjunctivitis and relatively many bacteria in the sac on chronic vernal conjunctivitis.
