結膜上皮細胞内の色素顆粒に就て

Pigment granules in epithelial cells of the conjunctiva

I．緒言

　Virus学の進歩に伴い結膜分泌物の細胞学は，結膜或は角膜疾患の診断上重要視されるに至つたのは当然である。さて結膜の擦過塗抹標本及び分泌物中の上皮細胞内に「ギムザ」染色にて一見P氏小体類似顆粒が存在することは，既に多くの人々によつて報告されている。従つてP氏小体検索上，上皮細胞内に見られる類似顆粒との鑑別に注意を促されている。即ち越智氏は「ウンナア，パツペンハイム」氏染色にて暗緑色，或は殆んど緑色を呈する小体を細胞内又は細胞外に散在的に或は集的団に存在することを認めている。本顆粒は270例の内11例に見られ，その出現機転は炎症等の如き動機により増殖する事が認められると述べている。脇坂氏は「トラコーマ」顆粒内細胞を塗抹標本により形態的に研究した際，「トラコーマ」にコツホ，ウイークス氏桿菌結膜炎を併発せるものゝ分泌物中にある上皮細胞内に多数の黄褐色色素顆粒を発見し，本染色体は炎症によつて本来色素顆粒を産出すべき傾向特性を有する細胞が，この際色素顆粒を産出し来るものならんと述べ，変性とは無関係であろうと云つている。小口，馬島氏も「トラコーマ」分泌物中の上皮細胞内に屡々黄褐色の色素顆粒を認め，普通の「メラニン」に相当したものであり，或るものは「リポクローム」類似のものにして，「メラニン」とは階級的の差異であろうと述べている。

I could easily recognized pigment granules dyed dark blue and green with Gimusa stain in epithelial cells on streak preperations of the conjunctiva of 16 cases of 20 cases of vernal conjunctivitis with the acute symptom. These granules were also recognized in 125 cases of 290 cases of various conjunctivitis and in 5 cases of 70 cases with the normal conjunctiva. These granules were determined to be Melanin from their chemical natures and various stainings. It is interesting that Melanin is frequently followed with vernal conjunotivitis.
