I．緒言

　Grant （1950）の創案になるtonographyの研究は，その後アメリカに於て追試され，最近では我が国に於ても，2〜3の研究発表が見られる様になつた。

　tonographyは電気眼圧計を使つて行うものとされているが，私は普通の「シエッツ」眼圧計に，考案した固定装置を施して，かなり正確にtono-graphyを行う事が出来た。この方法は，同時にMullerの電気眼圧計を使つて比較してみたが殆んど変らない測定値であつた。この実験装置，実施方法，電気眼圧計との比較，測定成績等については別に発表するので此処には省略する（第1報）。

I applied the water drinking test to twenty-two eyes of normal subjects, nine eyes of glaucoma suspects and fifty-one eyes of glaucoma, eighty-two eyes at total, and tried tono-graphy to them at the same time. The increase in intraocular tension was on the average 1.78 mmHg at nornal subjects, 4.40 mmHg at glaucoma supects and 6.06 mmHg at glau-coma, and the incidence of positive tests was 60.8% at glaucoma and 33.3 % at glaucoma suspects.
