我が教室に於けるトラコーマ研究の回顧と今日の問題

Retrospect and current topics of the studies on the trachoma in our clinic

1．緒言

　題目の目標とする処は即ち今日迄吾々の教室からトに就ては各方面に亘つて多くの研究が為されておるが，一応ここで反省し，その変遷を辿り，今日に於けるトの問題と照し台せて，未解決或は疑義とされておる点に就て考察し，併せて今後の吾人の進むべき方向にも希望を持たんとするものである。

　思うにトは人類の歴史以来あると云われておる程古い，即ち上古の印度は勿論，6000年前のエヂプト，降つてギリシヤ或はローマ等の記録にトを取扱つたと思われる証拠がある。そしてその治療法は近世のト治療法に匹敵する程の発達を示していたと思われるのであつて，この事は中国の眼科書に就ても同様であり，14世紀以後の明の眼科には可成りはつきりした記載がある。このように吾吾は眼科史を繙く度毎に，眼疾患に於けるトの重要性とその意義を今更の如く痛感するわけであるが，数千年に亘る人類永年の努力にもかかわらず世界のトの数は殆ど変りがないと云うのが今日の実情ではあるまいか。

The subgects of our studies on the trachoma in our clinic are related to the mass treatment, etiology, differential diagnosis, initial symptoms, immunity, classification, e. t. c.,

As for the mass treatment, Dr. Yaeji Ito, the former professor, had reported his detailed study (1949-1950). We have hitherto the experience of chemotherapy for sulfadrugs, Aureo-mycin, terramycin, ilotycin, a chromycin and leucomycin. As a result, the effect of antibio-tics on the trachoma has been made doubtful, and reinvestigation became necessary.
