光化学スモッグによる表層角結膜炎に対するリゾチーム点眼薬の使用経験

Clinical Use of Lysozyme Eye Drops on Keratoconjunctivitis due to Photochemical Air Pollation

緒言

　いわゆる光化学スモッグによる著しい被害が発生したのは，東京都内では1970年7月18日の立正高校事件に始まる。以来都内では初夏から秋期にかけてしばしば高濃度のオキシダントが発生し，年々被害が増加する傾向がある。

　本年は5月12日に始まる石神井南中学校の被害を筆頭として，世田谷太子堂中学校，清瀬中学校，練馬豊玉中学校などにおいて集団被害があいついで発生し，社会問題として新聞などで大きくとり上げられるに至つた。これらは学校における集団被害であるが，その他一般の人が眼がちかちかするなどの訴えで保健所に届けた数だけでも，1972年5月から8月にかけて6,200名にのぼり，さらに被害が増大する傾向がある。

Lysozyme eye drops were administered to 30 patients of chemical conjunctivitis or superficial keratitis caused by photochemical smog which consecutively hit Tokyo Metropolitan area from June to September, 1972 and the following results were obtained.

1. Out of 30 patients treated with Lysozy-me eye drops, 6 patients (20%) showed excel-lent improvement, 15 patients (50%) showed fair improvement and 9 patients showed no im-provement (30%), therefore improvement rate was 70%.
