A Case of Heterotropic Ossification

緒言

　眼内化骨に関する報告は，きわめて多数にのぼるが，そのすべてが萎縮眼球内における骨の新生であり^1）〜4），視力のいまだ存在する眼球における骨形成に関する報告はない。今回私たちは，脈絡膜腫瘍の患者の眼球摘出を行ない，組織学的にheterotopic ossificationであつたという，きわめてまれな症例に遭遇したのでここに報告する。

A report was made on a case of heterotopic ossification of the choroid in a female of 26 years of age. She had a complaint of blurred vision in the left eye. Ophthalmoscopically, whitish gray elevation, about 6 disc diameter in size, was observed at the upper part of the disc. The eye was enucleated two months after the first visit, because of the suspicion of malignant tumor characterized by an increase in size of tumor.

Histological examination revealed a heterotopic ossification, accompanied with the fibrous tissue, in the capillary layer of the choroid.
