  • Look Inside

The author discussed the pathogenesis of cy-toid bodies in collagen diseases. Cotton wool spots were demonstrated by means of angiogra-phy as completely avascular areas in the fun-dus of disseminated lupus erythematosus. Mo-reover an obliterated small vessel was histopa-thologically observed directly under the area of grouping cytoid bodies. It was confirmed in serial section that this vessel was a branch of small artery. But it was not succeeded to find a microinfarct or an emboly in the interior of this arteriole.
