  • Look Inside

Sodium activity (PNa) of the lens surface was studied following experimental ultrasonic irradiation of the lens in living rabbit eye. The lesions of the lens was produced by means of ultrasound (7Mc) focused by a spherical concave radiator with th eradius of curvature of 20 mm and the diameter of circular boundary of 20 mm.

Before and after irradiation with ultrasound, PNa of the lens surface was measured in iso-lated excised state. Newly-devised, concaved sodium-specific microelectrode was used throu-ghout. PNa-responsive glass electrode was blo-wn from almino-boro-silicate.
