Depth of the Anterior Chamber in Aphakic Eyes

I．緒言

　われわれは先に，Goldmann 900型細隙燈顕微鏡の付属品であるHaag-Streit社製の装置を用いて，正常眼245眼について測定を行ない，平均2.834mmであり，10〜19歳で最深で，以後加齢とともに浅くなることを知つた。

　今回は，白内障手術前後の前房深度の測定を行ない，術前，術後の比較，および術後視力と前房深度との関係などについて検討した。

The depth of the anterior chamber has been measured in 55 eyes before and 3 weeks follow-ing intracapsular extraction for cataract. The depth of the anterior chamber prior to opera-tion averaged 2.775mm. The average value of the anterior chamber 3 weeks following sur-gery was deeper at 2, 832mm. Prolapsus of the vitreous or rupture of the lens capsule tended to make the anterior chamber deeper than un-complicated ones. The postoperative depth of the anterior chamber was independent of the finally attained corrected visual acuity.
