角膜前面曲率とコンタクトレンズベースカーブとの関係

The Relationship between the Curvature of the Anterior Surface of the Cornea and the Rear Curvatures of the Corneal Contact Lens

I．緒言

　スフェリコンレンズの出現以来，角膜コンタクトレンズ（以下C．L．と略記）の概念が変り，現在では直径9mm前後のベベルつきPoly-curvelensが常用とされているが，そのベースカーブの決定については意外に諸家の見解は一致していない。我々は何らかの標準化が出来ないものかと考え，少しく検討した。

　言うまでもなくC．L．の適合（haptics）には物理的な面のみでなく生理的な面の問題も関連し複雑であるが，今回は角膜の前面曲率とC．L．のベースカーブとの関係のみについて考察する。

442 eyes in 233 cases, to whom contact lens was prescribed, were studied as to the rear curvature of the accepted contact lens and cor-neal curvature with particular attention to the significance of corneal astigmatism. It was found that :

1. In 393 eyes, or 89% of the total eyes, the rear curvature of the contact lens lay bet-ween the curvatures at the maximum and mi-nimum meridians of the cornea. The peak of the distribution curve was slightly larger, or flatter, than the harmonic average of curvatures of both meridians.
