球状角膜

Keratoglobus

I．緒言

　日常われわれが観察している角膜の形には，大きなもの，小さなもの，また隆起の強いもの，扁平なものなど，外見上種々の形のものに接することがある。半球状或いはドーム状に膨隆している球状角膜Keratoglobusについては，これまでわが国では，その例にほとんど接していない。教科書といわれるものにも，球状角膜についての正しい解釈がなされていない。著者は最近青色強膜を伴つた球状角膜の例に接し，その特徴的所見とともに，数々の新知見を得る機会を得たので，過去の球状角膜の文献的考察とともに，球状角膜の概念を考察したい。

A case of blue scleras with keratoglobus, fragility of the bones, combined deafness and mitral insufficiency in a 40year-old female is presented. Both corneae were enormously en-larged and globous, and the anterior chamber is 7.8mm in depth, corneae being less than one third the normal thickness. The case sho-wed also the following characteristics :

1. Corneal sensitivity is reduced particula-rly in the center of the cornea.

2. Peripheral visual field is contracted, pro-bably due to excessively increased corneal curvature.

3. The angle of the anterior chamber can be seen without gonioscope.
