  • Look Inside

Keratoplasty was performed in 3 cases with severe serpent ulcer of the cornea which did not respond to energic medical therapy and which were otherwise regarded to be curable only by enucleation. While one eye had to be later enucleated bacause of occurrence of sym-pathic ophthalmia as complication, the remain-ing two cases showed a favourable course after the keratoplastic operations. Curative ke-ratoplasty is to be attempted in cases with severe corneal ulcer in which conservative medical therapy prove futile.
