新生児涙嚢炎について

Dacryocystitis neonatorum. A clinical study

I．緒言

　新生児涙嚢炎或は先天性涙嚢炎等の名称で呼ばれる本症は，今日比較的通有の疾患であり外来者からの報告例は枚挙にいとまがない。しかし本症の新生児からの系統的観察はきわめて少い。そこで私共は社会保険中央総合病院で出産した産児全員を1年に渉り調査し，その発生率，経過並に治療等について検討を試みた。

An analysis is presented over the occurre-nce, clinical course and therapeutic outcomes in 93 cases of dacryocystitis detected out of 819 consecutive newborn babies. Chief con-clusions are :

1) The unexpectedly high incidence of the condition was brought about by irrigation of the lacrimal passage conducted in all cases. The condition occurred bilaterally in the ma-jority of cases.

2) No significance was noted as to the predilected sex or laterality.
