新局所麻酔剤Citanestの臨床使用成績

Experiences of new local anaesthetic, "Citanest"

I．緒言

　著者等はさきに本邦で初めてXylocaineの眼科領域に於ける使用経験について報告し，本剤がすぐれた局所麻酔剤であると結論したが，その後相次いで同様な臨床使用成績が報告され，今やXylocaineは眼科手術に欠くべからざる局所麻酔剤とまでなつたのである。

　我々は現在，日常眼科手術にXylocaineを使用しその非常に優秀な麻酔力に満足しているのであるが，薬理学者によるよりすぐれた麻酔剤に対する研究はたえず続けられており，最近Xylo—caineの近縁物質であるCitanestが新らしい局所麻酔剤として注目をあびるに至つたのである。

The anaesthetic action of Citanest (α-n-propylamino-2-methylpropionanilid) was studi-ed and compared with that of Xylocaine.

At first, the topical anaesthetic action of 4% Citanest solution was studied by animal and clinical experiments in comparison with 4% Xylocaine solution. In rabbit experiments, Citanest solution produced the same intensity of corneal analgesia as Xylocaine solution and showed neither mydriasis nor rise of intraocular pressure, but caused more irrita-tion of conjunctiva than Xylocaine solution.

In clinical experiments, similar results were obtained.
