  • Look Inside

The author describes a method of McLean's suture in which a corneal needle is advanced in two steps and a corneo-scleral incision is made on two slopes.

The needle is droven into cornea 2mm inside from limbus. Then the tip of needle is appeared outside from the incision, so that it is easy to pull out the thread, and also easy to put needle at the adequate depth of the scleral side of the wound. The section starts from nine o'clock with a knife or a keratom, then the author cuts the deeper section with Castroviejo's scissors, while the loop of thread is wide open with Castroviejo's crossaction forceps. It is Atkinson's method 1956.
