Abstract. Purpose:To report one-year outcome of intravitreal ranibizumab for exudative age-related macular degeneration(AMD)with good visual acuity. Cases and Method:This retrospective study was made on 18 eyes of 17 patients who received intravitreal ranibizumab for exudative AMD. The series comprised 13 male and 5 female eyes. The age ranged from 52 to 86 years, average 72 years. Each patient received 3 sessions of intravitreal ranibizumab to be followed by additional sessions if needed. Results:Number of sessions averaged 4.3 during one year. Averaged visual acuity improved significantly from 0.79 to 0.98 one year later(p<0.05). Averaged foveal thickness decreased significantly from 346μm to 205μm one year later(p<0.05). Conclusion:Intravitreal ranibizumab was effective for exudative AMD with good visual acuity one year after start of treatment.
